Tennis/Splash Camp

Bryce went to a Tennis/Splash Camp to end her summer. She had a blast! She learned how to play tennis, played with water balloons and played on the playground. Not a bad way to end a summer!

Movie Time!

I was so nervous to take Bryce to her first movie that I waited until this summer when she was four.  She likes to talk and move around while watching movies at home and that's not possible in a tiny movie theater.  We chose to go to The Lorax at the Palace on a Tuesday where it was only $1.  That way if we didn't make it for the whole movie, I was only out $2. :)  We sat down with our waters and popcorn and she was so excited!  She did awesome!  (I also loved that she chose to sit on my lap during most of it!  Soon, she won't want to do that anymore. :()

Then we had a Griffith playdate to see Ice Age at Northrock Theatre.  She wasn't as excited about this movie until after we got home.  She was tired and hot during the movie and I was sweaty from working out that morning so she didn't want to sit on my lap.  We haven't seen any of the other Ice Age movies so we didn't know what to expect but we both loved the "squirrel" parts!

We were a little late so we only had time for one quick picture before it started.  I tried to get a picture of her in front of the Ice Age picture out front but she was getting tired.

We also got to go see Brave with our favorite people, Cassie and Jersie.  The girls were so good!  It's fun to see Bryce having fun with other kids!  We went to the Warren and saw Brave.  What a cute movie!

We wanna "Pump It Up!"

My sister, Kimmy and I took our kids to Pump It Up today.  The kids earned a free jump for reading their books with the library's summer reading program.  They were so excited!

The kids had a blast!  Kim and I, not so much.  There was a group of 4-6 boys that ran around like "hooligans"...  Their parents just sat on the floor and talked the whole time.  I don't think any of them ever got up and checked on their kids.  Granted the kids were older but they were hurting other kids by the way they were "playing".  The poor girl who worked there looked so mad and stressed the whole time.  You couldn't have paid me enough!  At least, the kids loved it! :)



Glow in the Dark Hide and Go Seek and Lightning Bugs!!

Bryce and I opened up the glow sticks and glow in the dark bracelets (that didn't work at all) that we bought from Target and headed outside to play.  We decided to play hide and go seek first. Bryce isn't the best at this game because she always comes out of her hiding place before I find her. :)  She got distracted after the first couple rounds, because of all the lightening bugs.  So we aborted our game and went on a lightning bug hunt.  I showed her how to make the shiny part into rings, so I had to keep killing :( the bugs to make her rings.  She loved it!  What a fun night!

Happy Memorial Day!

We spent the morning at Sedgwick County Park to celebrate Memorial Day. Bryce had a blast on the playground and then looking at the water and ducks.

Summer Bucket List

I have so much that I want to do with Bryce, so I decided to make a Bucket List.  Most are my ideas, but I'll let Bryce add some too!

1. Play at Sedgwick County Park with daddy. (Bryce's contribution to the list!) (Completed 5/28/12)
2. Go to playdates with our Griffith friends. (Completed 6/1/12)
3. Do a Scavenger Hunt at the Zoo.
4. Go to Wet and Wild Days at the Zoo. (Completed 7/20/12)
5. Play at Exploration Park Playground.
6. Play in the Fountain at Riverside Park.  (Try to at least twice a week!) (Completed 5/25/12)
7. Swim in grandma and grandpa Rogers' pool with the cousins. (Completed 7/18/12)
8. Go to a movie. (Completed 7/3/12, 7/13/12,7/16/12)
9. Go to Worlds of Fun/Oceans of Fun.
10. Play Hide and Go Seek in the dark. (Completed 6/4/12)
11. Have a water balloon fight.
12. Sign up Bryce for the Library Summer Program and check out books. (Completed 6/2/12)
13. Go to Riverside's 4th of July Pancake Feed. (Completed 7/4/12)
14. Bryce ride her bike/car during the 4th of July parade. (Completed 7/4/12)
15. Catch lightning bugs and make them into rings. (Completed 6/3/12)

We may update this as the summer goes on and we will definantly post when we have crossed one of the list!

HAPPY SUMMER!

Let the Summer Begin!

Today was the PERFECT start to our summer!  Bryce LOVED the Riverside fountain once again!  It is so fun to watch her have so much fun!  I can telled she has really grown up because she actually went into the middle of the fountain where there is more water and it goes up high.  I love watching her dance around with a HUGE smile on her face!  This is going to be a great Summer!

Sick in the Summer?!?

Bryce and I just got over being sick in the summer.  I know, crazy huh?  Bryce ended up having a fever and throwing up Saturday and Sunday and I ended up having a fever and a really sore throat.  Bryce seems all the way better today, wahoo!!  I did keep her home from swim lessons yesterday and I think that was best for her and the other kids.  I'm feeling better today,  but still have a really sore throat. :(  I don't think either one of us has been this sick in the summer ever....  Hopefully we don't get sick again this summer!!

Start of Summer Vacation

The first day of our summer vacation, Bryce and I took a walk to Douglas for some shopping and bought a cute little owl for Bryce (An early birthday present!):
