Farm Fun!
We learned a little about farms this week. Our Dairy Farm field trip was cancelled due to heat, so that was a big bummer! We still had some fun!

Oceans of Fun!
We are learning about Oceans this week!
Bryce started by making a lobster. I think it is the cutest lobster I have ever seen! We painted her foot for the body and her 2 hands for the pinchers.
We then made some Sand-dough. Bryce mixed the ingredients for me and then I let put them on the stove. We haven't got to play with it yet, so those pictures will be coming!
Today, we also made an Octopus and learned the letter O. She LOVES zeros and has a hard time understanding how a zero can also be an O. We will work on this! :) (Bryce also used scissors for the first time and didn't do so bad. I let her cut the leftover paper and she loved it!)
We made Ocean flashcards to practice our numbers too. I wrote the numbers on the front and Bryce stuck that many stickers on the back. Then we turned the flashcard over and Bryce traced the numbers with glue and we worked together to cover the number with sand. So now Bryce can trace the numbers and count the stickers.
We also made some Ocean Jello to eat tomorrow, so pictures of that and are edible sand later!

Potty Training- done??
Well, this Wednesday I decided to ask Bryce to wear underwear to Strollers in Motion. Most times I've asked she has ran away screaming from me saying "No! I wear diapers! I'm a baby!". Well this time, she said okay and put them on with her clothes and went back to playing. I thought to myself WOW, is this the day potty training works?!? She stayed dry all morning in her underwear! (After I bribed her with icecream for lunch if she stayed dry, you do want you can, right?) She even stayed dry the whole afternoon and evening! :) I braced myself for another set-back on Thursday, but she wore underwear AGAIN and stayed dry ALL DAY! I will admit that while playing in the driveway with just a shirt on and nothing else, she did poop in the driveway. But I have in the past let her pee in the driveway to save us a trip inside, so it was more my fault than hers! :) I thought it was funny, Kyle did not and I was the one who picked it up.... Well, Friday was more of the same (without the pooping in the driveway part!)... Another whole day of staying dry! I think we are FINALLY on our way to having a COMPLETELY potty trained little girl. GO BRYCEE!!!
Banick girls new Routines/Rituals
Bryce and I have started some great routines and rituals the last couple week of our awesome summer together. I love spending time with my little girl and wouldn't trade this summer for anything! (Even WITH the constant "why?" and "huh?" that comes out of her mouth EVERY time I talk!)
The first rountine/ritual/tradition (what ever you want to call it!) is dancing to the credits music at the end of Tangled. I started this the first time we watched it because I actually really like the song and now we HAVE to do it EVERY TIME! :) I don't mind! It pretty cute watching her dance around just like me.(poor girl is going to have my bad dance moves!) Just so you know, we watch Tangled almost every day, so swing by our house and you are sure to catch our dance fest!
The next routine we have started is bed time. I know she is already 3 and I'm just now starting a consistent bedtime routine. We run upstairs brush our teeth (together! :)), put on Bryce's pajamas (or take off clothes and go naked), crawl into bed, read a story from Bryce's bible book (which she loves!), do one of the story activities from the book, pray, give kisses and then off to dreamland. I love it! We missed a night the other night because she crashed on the couch and I actually wanted to wake her up before I went to bed just to do all these things together! I'm so happy that I am finally praying each night with my little girl. It is so cute to see her talking to God and telling Grandma Banick "hi", "I miss you!", and "I love you!" each night before bed. I think this is a routine we will keep for a long time!
I hope you have started something fun this summer with your little one and are enjoying every minute of your summer!

4th of July: Cowtown, Pancakes, Parade, Swimming and Fireworks
We started our 4th of July festivities the Saturday before at Cowtown. It was HOT! Bryce was excited to see Rosie the cow's baby cow and Kyle was excited for the Beer Garden! :) Here are a few pictures from our fun:
My All-American Girl!
We started the actual 4th of July at the Riverside Pancake Feed. Kyle and Bryce enjoyed their pancakes! I, on the the other hand saved those calories! :) I don't have any pancake-eating pictures because the camera's batteries were dead. :(
After a quick trip to Dillons for new batteries, I do have pictures of the kiddie parade. This was Bryce's first year to be in the parade! We decorated her pink car with flags and she was so excited! (She may have been more excited about another balloon though!)
After the parade, we headed home so I could make potato salad and a flag cake for our supper that night. Bryce helped me decorate the flag cake. I think she liked the whip cream the most!
That night we enjoyed hot dogs, chips and flag cake before heading to my parents' neighborhood pool. We swam for an hour and then bought some firecrackers. When we got back home, their neighbor's were setting off firecrackers and Bryce wanted nothing to do with them! She ran into the house screaming and didn't want to go back outside. We ended up heading home with a bag full of smoke bombs, poppers, and sparklers. :( We ended the night on a walk by the river watching the fireworks.
We had a great day celebrating and we hope you did too!
